Craig-y-Nos Castle
Craig-y-Nos Castle, built in 1841 in Powys, Wales, was originally a Victorian country house before being purchased in 1878 by world-famous opera singer Adelina Patti, who transformed it into a lavish retreat frequented by European royalty. She added the Patti Pavilion theatre, which still stands today, and lived there until her death in 1919. Following her passing, the castle served as a tuberculosis hospital from 1922 to the 1950s, later becoming a nursing home before falling into disrepair. Restored in recent decades, it now operates as a hotel and wedding venue, also gaining a reputation for paranormal activity, with ghostly sightings—particularly of Adelina Patti—reported in the theatre and former hospital rooms.
